Date selector

Estimated reading: 3 minutes

The date selector is available in the interfaces for all the analytical views, as well as the interface for downloading reports. You can use the selector to choose a range of dates for analyzing your data.

1. Using the date selector

Screenshot of the date selector

The calendar’s left column contains filters corresponding to predefined periods. They are sorted from the most recent to the oldest. Clicking on a period filter updates the relevant date(s) in the calendar and selects the relevant days.

The predefined period filters are as follows:

  • Today
  • Yesterday
  • This week
  • Last week
  • Last 7 days
  • Last 30 days
  • This month
  • Last month
  • Last 30 days
  • Last quarter
  • Last 3 months
  • Last 90 days
  • This year
  • Last year
  • Last 365 days
  • Custom period

You can also define a “custom period”. This option is automatically selected when changes are made directly to the range of dates in the calendar.

This option can also be selected manually using the “custom period” filter. Therefore, you can choose a start date and end date for the period. The last date that can be selected corresponds to the current date.

2. Comparing several periods

The option for comparing periods beneath the calendar can be enabled. This option can be used to define a second period for comparing data.

In the chart, the first selected period for viewing the data is called “Period 1”. If users add a second comparison period, it will be defined as “Period 2”.

In the period selector, the comparison dates are shown in orange. The comparison data are displayed in the chart in a lighter version of the same color as the segment over the initial period.

By default, the predefined comparison period corresponds to the period preceding the current selection. This second period can also be customized, and its length may be different to the length of the initial period.

Clicking on this button minimizes the display of the period selector and saves the current period selection.

The chart must be updated with the data from the chosen segment(s) over the previously selected periods. Each segment has its own color. The data for the comparison periods are displayed in a lighter version of the same color.

Selecting date ranges of the same length will offer greater visibility when comparing the data displayed.

Once you have selected the period, you can display that period by: day, week, month, quarter or year. The horizontal time axis will be updated.

By choosing a “week” display, the first day of the week will be set to Monday.
